Looking for Ways to Find People

I want to figure out whether the phone book search engines will be able to help me, but I am not sure. I might need to use some sort of people search engine instead since I am not even sure what cities some of the people I am looking for are living in now. I should have just kept in touch, but I was out of the country for a while and it was hard to do so. Now I find that some people are no longer at the same addresses and phone numbers.
