They are waiting no longer for the market in their high-end arena to turn around. The Wall Street Journal reports that the most recent transaction was Leona Helmsley’s 40-acre Dunnellon Hall estate in Greenwich, CT. The property has sold for $35 million, marked down 72 percent from its initial $125 million price tag—but still among the most expensive homes ever sold in this affluent New York suburb. Why is it that even the rich and the famous are selling their mansions now? The agent refused to comment on the sale.
