Retinopathy is an eye disorder caused by uncontrolled diabetes. Diabetes is a resultant of arthritis. One need to opt for arthritis exercises in order to control diabetes and to reduce the eye disorder called retinopathy. The leading cause of new cases of adult blindness in America, this condition develops when tiny vessels in the retina rupture or burst because of a lack of oxygen and blood. The vessels die, forming tiny wool-like scar tissue. Ultimately, the retina may detach, causing blindness. In severe cases, new, fragile vessels grow sporadically, one on top of the other, hemorrhaging and leaking blood into the jellylike fluid that fills the eyeball. This increases the pressure in the eyes, which further aggravates the situation.
