Is a Used Car Extended Warranty Worth It?

Bought a new Chevy Impala with 75,000 miles on it and I’m wondering what I should do about a warranty. The manufacturers warranty is already expired and I’m wondering that if it used car extended warranty will be a good deal or not. Sometimes I guess it’s just a gamble that you take because there’s really no way of being able to predict if the car will break down or not. I just know that if something major happens, I don’t have the extra money to pay for costly repairs especially with the way that these local mechanic shops charge for even small things. I think the going rate for car repairs is $45 an hour here in Houston.
