An Economic Collapse in the Works

If you have been awake at all in the past couple years then you would know that something is definitely amiss in our country. The economy is nothing compared to what it was just 5 short years ago. With all of the recent incidents: banks collapsing, major businesses closing or filing for bankruptcy protection, all the foreclosures, people losing their jobs… you would know that an economic collapse is ready to play out. You have to keep your eyes open for all this and prepare yourself as much as you can. Your survival will be in your own hands, so remember to stay awake and be smart.

Finding my best friend

My best friend had recently moved to Boston for college.  When he left, he didn’t tell me where his new residence was, or what mailing address to reach him at.  We used to be roomates, so when his mail kept getting delivered to my house, I needed a way to mail it to him.  A month had passed, and we hadn’t really spoken, so I decided one day to use a reverse cell look up to track him down.  Luckily he had registered his new address with his new phone number.  I was able to send him all his old mail in the end.

Business Incubator For-Profit vs. Non-Profit

According to the 2006 State of the Business Incubation Industry, many for-profit or “private” business incubators programs were launched in the late 1990s by investors and other for-profit seeking to hatch businesses quickly and bring in big payoffs. At the time, it was estimated that nearly 30% of all incubation programs were for-profit ventures. After the dot-com bust, however, many of those programs closed. In NBIA’s 2002 State of the Business Incubation survey, only 16% of responding incubators were for-profit programs. By the 2006 SOI, just 6% of respondents were for-profit. The important thing is, businesses are still being incubated and having success afterward.

New Show Coming

Cory and I have been sorting through a bunch of new music videos for next week’s show. Lots of very cool stuff has been coming in.

I’m keeping track of what’s going on with the University too. Even though the show goes out on the Internet to a lot of people who don’t live anywhere near here, we do try to keep some local information in the show as well. Lots of controversy this week and I think it might be interesting to people no matter where they are. Sometimes we get the best email feedback on stuff that has to do with what’s happening right here.

Summer Months Mean Birthday Presents for This Family

The summer months mean vacations, picnics, and enjoying outdoor activities.  In our family the months of June, July, and August mean birthdays.  My birthday is June 13, while my grandson was born two weeks later on the 27th.  His baby sister will celebrate her first birthday just six days later on July 3.  Then we have a short break until August 9 when my granddaughter will turn 8.  It is difficult fitting in all these birthday parties in such a short span of time and means buying birthday presents three months in a row.  This year my husband and I plan on buying the older children new bikes because they outgrew their old ones.  We will give them the bikes before their birthdays so they can enjoy them throughout the summer.  The baby is easy to buy for because she needs a summer wardrobe.  It could be worse.  They could all have been born in December.
